In 1997 Easymidget teamed up with the Taliban for a “Wet Burka Contest” which was held jointly in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Jalalabad, Afghanistan. It was such a success that we’ve done something together every year since. Last year’s “Pin the Tail on the Red Cross Worker” at Rockefeller Center brought the house down!

This year we all agreed to do something a bit more on the serious side, a Taliban Math Quiz just for the kiddies! Don't forget your #2 Pencil!

1) Two Taliban fighters have 20 goats to be gutted for the annual “Buy a Wife! Sell a Wife! Festival”. The first man is an experienced butcher; he can finish the job in 6 hours. The second man lost his left arm in a tribal skirmish. It will take him a full 10 hours to finish the same job. How many hours will it take them to finish the job if they work together?

2) A Taliban “decency officer” is patrolling a goat market in Kabul. He is looking for girls with books and men without beards that he might shoot or pistol-whip. Two percent of the crowd is in violation of the Taliban edicts. The officer will patrol the goat market for ten minutes, taking three seconds to observe one person. If there are 2,000 people in the market, how many people will the officer enjoy shooting or pistol-whipping?

4) The only well in central Afghanistan with clean drinking water has two inlet pipes dumping raw sewage. The first inlet pipe can fill the well in 5 hours. The other can fill it in 7 hours. If the first pipe is open for 3 hours and then the second is opened, how long (in hours) will it take for the clean well to be filled with raw sewage after the second pipe is opened?
